Recent
trip to Avantika Temple, Bulandshahr, U.P.
Avantika temple is
located in a small village on the banks
of Ganga River near Bulandshar in U.P.
This is the oldest temple and said to be from Dwapar yug. River Ganga flows by
the side of this temple.
In Avantika Devi temple
the Devi (statue) appears in two forms, one is Jagadamba on right side and on
left side Sati. Stanch belief of devotees that
Prayers offered to Avantika Devi fulfills all wishes.. Many unmarried
girls offer prayers especially on Dusehra festival and pray Devi to fulfill
their wishes to have husbands of their choice. Here Rukmini offered prayers to
Avantika Devi and got Srikrishna as husband.

There is a story behind this Avantika Temple. Sri Krishna abducted Rukmini from Avantika temple
in dwapar yug, while she went to perform puja to Maa Avantika Devi , who is the
incarnation of Maa Lakshmi Devi.
Avantika Devi is also called Ambika Devi
and swayambhuhu. It is believed, its existence is since dwapar yug and also
mentioned about this temple in Mahabharat and Bhagavadgeeta..
There is a tradition in Avantika Devi temple
to offer only ‘SINDHUR AND PURE
GHEE’ . There is a long story behind
this offer.
Other interesting
places to visit in Avantika is
Gurukul Ashram , Rukmini Vallabh Dev Vedant Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Goushala,
Library, etc. all these are run by Shri Anant Shri Vibhushit Swamy Mahanand
Brahmachari ji Maharaj. There are huge buildings like hostels for the residence
purpose of gurukul students, teachers
and other administrative staff.

Sri Vishnu Sahasranama

male devotees and offered prayers, chanted Vishnu Sahasranamam by all at Yagna
Sala, and Lalitha Sahasranamam and
